Le 29 de chaque mois du calendrier musulman, au soir, le ciel est scruté par des comités d’observation à la recherche du croissant lunaire. Si l’astre est vu, le 1er du mois suivant correspond au lendemain. Dans le cas contraire, il faut compter un jour de plus au mois en cours. Le mois suivant débute le surlendemain.
Depuis une douzaine d’années, nous publions les dates retenues dans les pays musulmans et non musulmans pour le premier jour de chaque mois du calendrier musulman.
Voici les douze mois du calendrier musulman
Les douze mois de l’année hégirienne sont les suivants :
1- muharram
2- safar
3- rabi’ al-awwal
4- rabi’ ath-thani
5- jumada al-awwal
6- jumada ath-thani
7- rajab
8- chaabane
9- ramadan
10- chawwal
11- dhu al-qi’da
12- dhu al-hijja

Les jours blancs, 13e, 14e et 15e jours de chaque mois lunaire, sont associés à un jeûne, qu’il est méritoire d’observer.
Les dates à retenir pour rabi’ ath-thani sont les suivantes :
– dimanche 5, lundi 6 et mardi 7 octobre, dans les pays où le 1er rabi’ ath-thani correspond à mardi 23 septembre ;
– lundi 6, mardi 7 et mercredi 8 octobre, dans les pays où le 1er rabi’ ath-thani correspond à mercredi 24 septembre.
