A la période pré-islamique, comme à l’époque du Prophète (paix et bénédiction sur lui) la poésie tenait une place particulière chez les Arabes. On s’en rend très rapidement compte lorsqu’on lit par exemple l’histoire de la vie du Prophète (paix et bénédiction sur lui) par Ibn Ishaq. Le récit est parsemé de poèmes.
Aujourd’hui les musulmans se réapproprient la poésie, notamment par le slam, sans musique. Ça plaît aux uns, déplaît aux autres. Ci-dessus, Hisham al-Hadi, un musulman américain, énonce cinquante raisons d’être enthousiaste à l’arrivée de ramadan.

Vous faîtes une erreur très répandue en parlant de « période pré-islamique ». Cette expression a été inventée par les mécréants pour dénigrer l’Islam. Le terme utilisé dans le Coran est « jahiliya ». L’Islam existait bien avant la venue du prophète Muhammad , sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, nous ne pouvons donc pas parler de « période pré-islamique ». Utiliser cette expression revient à « takfiriser » tout autre prophète, alayhi salam.
